Orcan energy’s Marcel Flipse on what heat power can do for the shipping industry.

Orcan Energy’s second-generation Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) solutions are successfully used in shipping. Against a backdrop of constantly rising energy prices and strict emission limits, they offer owners an outstanding option for running their ship in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way.

20 minute presentation on what Orcan Energy offers the shipping industry.

Orcan Energy products are suitable for all ship types with engines from 500 kW, regardless of fuel type. Waste heat can be extracted from the engine`s exhaust gases and jacket cooling water, but also from a steam or thermal oil circuit. This can be used as electrical or mechanical energy depending on the power level of the selected Orcan Energy solution.
